With previous Outlook for Mac versions, there was a way you could bypass the automatic account setup by pressing a key while clicking on the 'Add account'. Now there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. We have a need to setup an SMTP (Sending only)account which was usually accomplished by using 127.0.0.1 as the POP server address and the actual SMTP server address that we wanted to use. Now the login fails because of the loopback address and the account setup will not continue.

I tested this on Outlook 2016 for Mac(16.8 (171114)) and there seems to be no direct option to configure account manually from Set up your Email window. Beside， what's your POP account? As far as I know, some specific POP accounts like Gmail may need to turn on the less secure option or POP enabled option before adding to Outlook.
