Malwarebytes Mac For 10.6.8

Neil, I realize that this is an old thread but I have noticed lots of responses on the Apple discussions saying that there is 'no scanner' 'no cleaner' for MAC that is worth using as far as virus/malware/adware detection or removal. Yet almost every time I see one of these responses by level 6 - 10 users here in the discussions they link to 'The Safe Mac' website which advertises Anti-Malware - AntiVirus software download for free. I believe 'thomas_r.' Maintains it. Is this something new that has recently showed up on 'The Safe Mac' site? Do you or anyone else know if this software is of any use?
