Hi This feature was available in Word 2000 and 2007, I am shocked to not be able to find it in Word 2011: I was able to assign shortcuts to special characters (for example, a with a macron) using te 'Insert symbol' feature. Now this is impossible. The 'Insert symbol' function is now split in two: --- Symbol browser - where I can find all those characters but can't assign a shortcut to them --- Advanced Symbol - where I can assign shortcuts but only to 255 characters that do not have all accents needed. I am writing for a living and need to use these characters, with a fast pace too, and I can't use a mouse click to insert one of them every time. What could I do to assign shortcuts like I did in my old version of Word?
