ORIGINAL: jeffn1 By far, the best answer for solo violin and cello is the Garritan Strad and Cello. I have the Strad and it's wonderful. The Gofriller Cello is on the list. The long, long, long list. Another option for solo strings is the Kirk Hunter stuff -- he had a solo strings lib for Gigastudio years ago, and has since updated all his libs to create the Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, and Diamond line of products. His introduction of the modular 'VS Pro' set of libs includes reprogrammed solo strings (for K2), which you can buy seperately.

You would need Kontakt 2 to use his products, which would be an additional cost. Check out some demos here: The technology behind the Garritan solo strings makes it bit more advanced than most other sample-playback products, but I would also go for the product that has the 'sound' you're looking for as well. ORIGINAL: munmun Is the Garritan stuff good just for classical or does it feel right for Bluegrass, folk, rock and pop? Definitely right for bluegrass, folk and rock. Huawei e180 driver for mac free. There was a nice demo of the Strad doing Orange Blossom Special or another similar bluegrass tune on Garritans site, it may still be there. As with any Sample Library there will be a learning curve to get the desired result. Both the Garritan violin and cello libraries require a good controller with at least expression pedal and mod wheel.

Is it also true that you need Kontakt 2 standalone program to use these programs? ORIGINAL: toby ORIGINAL: munmun Is the Garritan stuff good just for classical or does it feel right for Bluegrass, folk, rock and pop? Definitely right for bluegrass, folk and rock.
