I've written an auto-archive AppleScript for Outlook Mac 2011 to emulate what is available in Outlook Windows. It archives mail and calendar events. After configuring a few parameters in the script you can run it manually to test it or using Outlook for Mac scheduling tool you can get it to auto run daily. Open Outlook 2011. Go to the Menu, click File and select Import. Select the Outlook Data File (.pst or.olm) radio button. Click the right arrow in the lower-right corner. Select the Outlook for Windows Data File (.pst) radio button. Click the right arrow in the lower-right corner.
Hello, We use Exchange and Outlook 2011 Mac. I know we can archive mail to 'on my computer' folders. I know you can export a mailbox to a.OLM file. I am looking for a solution that equals that of the.PST file of Outlook 2010/2007.
In short, how do you archive mail and then backup only that locally saved archive? I want to be able to have that archive, know where it lives in the file system, and have the ability to back it up and/or transfer it to another computer. To work around this situation, how about trying to create a rule refers to following steps: 1. In Outlook 2011 for Mac, from the Tools menu, select Rules. Select Exchange in the rules window, and click the '+' sign to add a new rule. Remember, rules are processed in order from top to bottom in the list. Use the arrows to adjust the rule order. Name the Rule: 180 Day Auto Archive, or whatever is suitable. Under the 'If' section, define the criterion as: ' Date Recieved' + ' is greater than or equal to' + ' 180'.
Under the 'Then' section, define the action as: ' Move message' + ' inbox on My Computer' The location 'My Computer' is your local computers copy. If you pull down in that menu, you'll see that you can specify another location if necessary. Finally, Click 'Ok', making sure that the Enabled button is selected 7.
